BOYCOTT THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES
PROTEST THEIR ALIGNMENT WITH MICHAEL VICK
AND THE WORK THEY DID TO GET HIM BACK IN THE NFL WITHOUT MISSING A HEARTBEAT.
Help us work to make them seriously regret this slap in the face to the animal rights/welfare movements.
|WE MUST GIVE MICHAEL VICK THE SAME CHANCE HE GAVE HIS DOGS. NONE! Second Chance? Hell no! He's got to go! Neither the Humane Society of the United States nor Michael Vick were willing to give the dogs a second chance. The list of Eagle Corporate Partners/Sponsors to boycott. Let this sadist go!

Listen to or read transcript of KPAM 860 interview. Five star interview. Kudos to Oregon Humane Society and KPAM radio. Oregon Humane Society distances themselves from HSUS and radio commentator who had been a donor to HSUS will give donations to local animal shelter instead. Oregon Humane Society is not in any way affiliated with HSUS and it sounds like at this time at least they are glad to be able to say that.
Want to find out about HSUS? Nathan Winograd's compilation of articles are the best primer.

It's pretty sad and awful that Nike believes Michael Vick is a person who deserves to have gifts bestowed upon him while poor children who need shoes are forced to pay $50 to 100 for Nikes; that Nike is such an exploitative and low life corporation, operating sweatshops all over the world, using children, operating freezone prisons with inhumane working conditions and paying unlivable wages to the devastatingly poor, that they think putting their product onto Michael Vick will improve their corporate reputation. ~~ Nikki Craft, October 1, 2009
BREAKING NEWS: BOYCOTT OF PHILADELPHIA The mayor of Philadelphia had a meeting with the Eagles before Michael Vick was hired and gave him and the idea a big enthusiastic "thumbs up". A half empty football stadium of Eagles fans gave him a standing ovation. Local animal organizations don't want to protest or speak up about it.
If there is one group to thank it is HSUS The Humane Society of the United States because they made it all possibly by working to clean up Vick's reputation. Not even a day could be wasted so they could get him back out on the field. And Vick said it wasn't even about football. Liar. The Humane Society said they had until October before they would be approving Vick for reentry into the NFL. However that was rushed up and they gave their approval so that he was able to play in the preseason games.
Systemic, Systematic, Institutional Racism at the Humane Society
Image above: Left is the the Humane Society Executive Staff. (Double click for larger image.) Not one African American or black on their board or their Executive Staff. Their dog fighting group? All black except for the lead trainer who is white. Wonder if all the young boys (all black from the photos and videos yet published) who are in those community classes know the discrimination policies that are deep rooted in HSUS hiring policies? Could their highly publicized alliance with Vick and outreach to black males for their Anti-Dog Fighting Camp be a way to obfuscate the fact that their organizational hiring practices are racist? [A HSUS employee bragged that they had an African American on the board who wasn't pictured on their page. I replied, "Well you better get his photo up there in a hurry and if you think pulling out one token does anything but prove our point you are sadly mistaken"]
ANNOUNCING THE BOYCOTT AGAINST THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES, the NFL, THE Eagles and all their corporate partners and sponsors.
It is with great sadness (well it used to make me sad, but the more I find out about HSUS the less sad I become) that we are compelled to call for this boycott against the Humane Society. They have facilitated, yes facilitated, Michael Vick being able to return to the NFL and football which puts forth a horrible example for young children everywhere to believe they can kill and torture dogs, and live a criminal life, and still be a great football star and a spokesperson for HSUS. No, Michael Vick will not be going around the country and teaching children what to do with violent dogs. This is preposterous. Michael Vick may be the rule rather than the exception for the NFL bad boyz with their glamour and fame privilege. But we do expect more from the Humane Society.
The Humane Society didn’t need Michael Vick to do a campaign against dog fighting. They could have pointed him out from a distance as an example of what not to do and that is exactly what they would have done had he been some poor hick in the south fighting roosters. They would have never highlighted it in this way.
The difference here is a super sophisticated public relations effort to clear Vick's name and reputation so he can make them all some money. And indeed this deal is all about money--big money. So much money that not a week, or even a moment, can be lost in rehabilitating Michael Vick’s reputation enough to get him out on the field for those big money making games which brings in lots of blood money for all of them, including unfortunately the Humane Society.
Look, nobody wants to boycott the humane society, myself included. And this boycott is not about individual rescuers in the field. Scotlund Haisley is listed on my own website as a person I respect the most. However don’t you think it is awfully naïve to boycott the NFL while ignoring the organization that facilitated Vick’s come back? It could not have been achieved without the Humane Society and you had better believe there are plenty of people there who are upset by Wayne Pacelle’s business decision who can’t say a word about it. The lawyers and big money interests knew that the Human Society could protect Vick; that HSUS was about the only thing that could protect him on this comeback. They, including the Humane Society, also knew how it would split the animal rights/welfare movement; and some didn’t care, none allowed it to stop them.
Targeting the Humane Society of the United States is tactically important to any Michael Vick Boycott. First they are primarily responsible for his comeback in the NFL. Also because the Humane Society is the weak link; if they cave, and Vick does not have HSUS at his back, then we believe the NFL will be forced to buckle. Otherwise get real, do you think the NFL cares if animal rights and welfare groups protest this until the cows come home? We don't think so.
The Humane Society, The NFL and their sponsors and this sadist Michael Vick all depend on you having a short attention span and getting used to what they have done. I don't know about you who are reading this page, but I have a very long attention span. Hope you will speak out about this in every avenue you can and apply pressure on everyone you can think of until Michael Vick is told in no uncertain terms that he has no business teaching anything to anybody, any more than OJ needs to be snatched up by battered women's centers to teach men how not to beat and kill their wives. If Michael Vick is not euthanized like the dogs he tortured, sexually abused and murdered then the only other thing that needs to happen is he needs to shut the fuck up, listen and learn and do his best to transform himself into a human being over the next decade or so and then we might be interested in what he has to say but even then certainly not as a representative of the Humane Society or the NFL.
Let the Humane Society know how mad you are, how you hold them responsible, how they have lost your support, your respect and your money until they get rid of the sadist dog fighter. Take the Humane Society out of your will, that's what at least one person has done. If you have connections with the Human Society satellite groups across the country try to initiate disaffiliations. Make this alliance between the NFL, the Humane Society of the United States and Michael Vick a very uneasy and unprofitable one. Speak out. Write sponsors. Pass on this to your friends and networks. You can also join this group if you like and also find out about other sponsors you can boycott in the Discussion area of this group.
Sponsors of the NFL to boycott until Michael Vick is removed: Pepsi, Coke, Anheuser-Busch, Burger King, Taco Bell.
Our facebook group is “Boycott the Humane Society, the NFL, all their sponsors & Michael Vick!” [Our group disappeared tonight. (Monday) If you are trying to sign up please come check. They might be censoring it, or it might just have technical problems. We don't know yet. There's no justifiable reason to take our group down.]
A special message for the animal rights and welfare activists and movement in the United States. Brought to you by the Humane Society.

The only thing the Humane Society needs to do with Michael Vick is euthanize him. Let this sadist go! ~Nikki Craft, August 1, 2009
